在胃蛋白酶的肽酶家族A1中,被胃蛋白酶抑制素弱抑制。可部分替代缺酵母菌中的可心。Mkc7基因(酿酒酵母)的同源产物具有类似的催化活性,被称为yapsin 2 反应：Hydrolyses various precursor proteins with Arg or Lys in P1, and commonly Arg or Lys also in P2. The P3 amino acid is usually non-polar, but otherwise additional basic amino acids are favourable in both non-prime and prime positions
