Biological Activity

[Description]:

Bone Gla Protein (45-49) is the 45-49 fragment of gamma-carboxyglutamic acid (GLA)-containing protein from bone (BGP, osteocalcin), which has chemotactic activity in vitro for a number of cells which are found adjacent to endosteal bone surfaces in vivo[1].

[In Vitro]

Bovine bone Gla protein (BGP) (1 nM-10 μM) exerts chemotactic activity of (0.1 and 1 μM) cultured human breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231 cells), (1 nM-1 μM) human peripheral blood monocytes, and (1-10 μM) rat osteosarcoma cells with osteoblast-like characteristics[1].
