【用途一】
可作有机合成原料，亦是农药杀虫剂的中间体。
【用途二】
丙硫醇即正丙硫醇，又名硫代丙醇、1-巯基丙烷，在农药生产上可用于合成有机磷杀虫剂丙硫磷、硫丙磷，杀线虫剂及土壤杀虫剂灭线磷，除草剂克草敌的中间体，也用作其他有机合成的中间体。

丙硫醇合成路线

丙硫醇制备

1.由溴丙烷与硫脲反应而得。将硫脲与溴丙烷的甲醇溶液中回流3h，回收甲醇后，加入稀氢氧化钠溶液再回流6h。然后，慢慢滴加稀硫酸，随时蒸出丙硫醇，当稀硫酸加完后，再继续蒸馏，直至蒸不出油珠为止。收集的油层为粗品，用无水氯化钙干燥，然后精馏，收集沸点66.5-76.5℃馏分即得为成品。

2.由卤代丙烷与硫氢化钠作用而得。

3.丙醇与硫化氢于300-380℃通过催化反应也可得到丙基硫醇。
