　从煤焦油中回收。提取荧蒽的最好原料是II蒽油和沥青氧化过程中的馏出物，将这些原料放入间歇式蒸馏锅中，在真空度0.09MPa下进行蒸馏。同时往锅内通入少量过热蒸汽。馏出的蒸汽经过精馏塔，分凝器和冷却器，冷却至高于熔点的温度，流入受槽，取375～385℃馏出物进行结晶，离心脱油后得到粗荧蒽，粗荧蒽用混合溶剂重结晶即得成品。
