重要的有机化工原料和聚合物的中间体。其最重要的衍生产品甲基丙烯酸甲酯生产的有机玻璃可用于飞机和民用建筑的窗户,也可加工成纽扣,太阳滤光镜和汽车灯透镜等;生产的涂料具有优越的悬浮、流变和耐久特性;制成的粘结剂可用于金属、皮革、塑料和建筑材料的粘合;甲基丙烯酸酯聚合物乳液用作织物整理剂和抗静电剂。另外,甲基丙烯酸还可作为合成橡胶的原料。

甲基丙烯酸制备

甲基丙烯酸的工业生产方法主要有两种,即丙酮氰醇法是异丁烯(叔丁醇)氧化法。

1.丙酮氰醇法 丙酮和氢氰酸在碱催化剂存在下,反应生成丙酮氰醇,再与浓硫酸反应生成甲基丙烯酰胺硫酸盐,然后经水解即可生成甲基丙烯酸。生产中要求丙酮氰醇和硫酸中不含水分,否则会产生丙酮或α-羟基异丁酸甲酯留在产品中,影响产品质量。用丙酮氰醇法生产甲基丙烯酸,每吨产品消耗氰化钠(>87%)898kg、丙酮(98.5%)1100kg、硫酸(发烟)4080kg。

2.异丁烯(叔丁醇)氧化法 异丁烯经两步氧化,第一步生成甲基丙烯醛,第二步生成甲基丙烯酸,然后经精馏得到合格产品。

3.甲基丙烯腈水解法以异丁烯为原料,经氨氧、水解而得。4.异丁烷氧化法经氧化制得甲基丙烯醛,再经氧化而得。
