用作塑料的增塑剂。
【用途二】
用作香料的定香剂,还可用作醇酸树脂、丁腈胶和氯丁橡胶的增塑剂
【用途三】
用作分析试剂、气相色谱固定液、纤维素和酯类的溶剂、增塑剂及润滑剂
【用途四】
邻苯二甲酸二乙酯是杀鼠剂敌鼠、鼠完、氯鼠酮的中间体,也是重要的溶剂。
【用途五】
用作增塑剂、溶剂、润滑剂、定香剂、有色或稀有金属矿山浮选的起泡剂、气相色谱固定液、酒精变性剂、喷雾杀虫剂。该品与乙酸纤维素、乙酸丁酸纤维素、聚乙酸乙烯酯、硝酸纤维素、乙基纤维素、聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯、聚苯乙烯、聚乙烯醇缩丁醛、氯乙烯-乙酸乙烯共聚物等大多数树脂有良好的相容性。主要作为纤维素树脂的增塑剂,但该品挥发性大,限制了广泛应用。该品毒性低,家兔口服LD50为1000mg/kg。
【用途六】
硝酸纤维素、乙酸纤维素的溶剂,增塑剂,润湿剂,气相色谱固定液(最高使用温度95℃,溶剂为丙酮、苯、二氯甲烷、乙醇),选择性保留和分离芳族化合物、不饱和化合物以及各种含氧化合物(醇、醛、酮、酯等)。
【用途七】
用作气相色谱固定液、纤维素的溶剂及用作塑料和合成橡胶等的增塑剂。 用于ICP-AES、AAS、AFS、ICP-MS、离子色谱等。滴定分析用标准溶液。

邻苯二甲酸二乙酯制备
1.以苯酐和乙醇为原料,乙醇过量作为带水剂,在乙醇回流温度下进行酯化。粗酯经中和、水洗、精馏而得成品。
2.将苯酐和过量的乙醇加入反应锅,再加入浓硫酸为催化剂,回流带水。所得粗酯经中和、水洗、蒸馏而得成品。每吨产品消耗苯酐760kg、乙醇700kg。工艺过程可参考邻苯二甲酸二辛酯。
3.在装有分水器的水流冷凝回流装置的圆底烧瓶中,加入固体酸催化剂三氯化铁、邻苯二甲酸酐和乙醇[狀(邻苯二甲酸酐)∶狀(乙醇)=1∶1.5],再加入带水剂环己烷。加热回流,反应约1.5h,至分水器中水层体积不再增加时停止反应。冷却后将反应物移至蒸馏烧瓶中,先常压下蒸出环己烷,再减压蒸馏收集156℃/1.41kPa无色液体馏分,即为成品。酯化反应式如下
