Biological Activity

[Description]:

Norwogonin, isolated from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, possesses antiviral activity against Enterovirus 71 (EV71) with an IC50 of 31.83 μg/ml[1]

[In Vitro]

Norwogonin (0.4, 2, 10, and 50 μg/mL; 48 hours) inhibits EV71 replication in Vero cells and prevents the cytotoxicity induced by EV71 infection[1]. Norwogonin (50 μg/mL; 48 hours) dramatically decreases viral VP2 protein expression[1]. Norwogonin (50 μg/mL; 48 hours) strongly decreases the expression of EV71 NCR gene at 48 h[1].
