Biological Activity

[Description]:

Ivermectin B1b is the minor component of Ivermectin. Ivermectin, a potent anti-parasitic agent, inhibits the replication of SARS-CoV-2 in cell culture[1][2].

[In Vitro]

Ivermectin and Ivermectin B1b are the most potent inhibitors of contraction and motility in both susceptible isolates (H. contortus McMaster and and O. circumcincta McMaster) also show the highest resistance ratios in both species[3]. Vermectin is a macrocyclic lactone that acts as a positive allosteric modulator of α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) but has no modulatory activity on 5-HT3 receptors[4].

[In Vivo]

Ivermectin B1b causes snail death[1].
