LolCDE-IN-2 Biological
Activity
Description |
LolCDE-IN-2 is a potent Lol protein (LolCDE) inhibitor. LolCDE-IN-2 shows antibacterial activity with a MIC of 2 μg/ml against E. coli MG1655 [1].
|
In Vitro |
The P. aeruginosa ΔlolCDE::CTX-lolCDE E. coli strain becomes more susceptible to LolCDE-IN-2 (compound 2A) when either the MexAB-OprM efflux pump is lacking or the permeability of its OM is increased by the expression of the FpvA-ΔP protein; in each case, these strains show an MIC of 16 μg/ml [1]. The LolCDE-IN-2 likely makes contact with residues that are found in the binding regions in E. coli LolCDE.
