【用途一】
用作还原染料、硫化染料的防染剂和染料的成色保护剂，并可用作船舶的防锈剂及电镀退镍剂
【用途二】
用作催化剂，也用于有机合成、染料工业等
【用途三】
本品是温和的氧化剂，在织物印花或轧染汽蒸时，可保护色光，在织物煮炼和丝光时，要附止刀丝、罩浆，可抵消还原物质作用，也可作染料合成时的氧化剂。
【用途四】
该品用作还原染料、硫化染料的防染剂和染料的成色保护剂，船舶的除锈剂及电镀退镍剂，也是染料和香兰素的中间体。

1、硝基苯磺化法工业生产可由硝基苯磺化；中和而得。原料消耗定额：苯（98%）400kg/t；硫酸（98%）550kg/t；硝酸（98%）390kg/t；液碱（30%）500kg/t；发烟硫酸（含SO320%）410kg/t；石灰乳550kg/t；纯碱（95%）30kg/t。

2、苯磺化法将苯用硫酸磺化，再用硝酸硝化，制得间硝基苯磺酸，然后用石灰乳中和，再用碳酸钠或氢氧化钠置换，即制得成品。
