【用途一】
用于分离金、钯及还原磷钼酸，也用作显影剂
【用途二】
该品是具有代表性的主要的快速显影剂，也常译音为密妥耳。单用或与对苯二酚并用均可，效果都很好，该品的相对还原能力约为对苯二酚的20倍。该品与对苯二酚按1：2-4配比制成的显影液称为MQ显影液；如与偏酸配制，则可用作微粒显影液（胶片敏感度为1/2）。
