1.以工业镉为原料,用电解法提纯。将镉棒放入硫酸镉(分析纯)饱和溶液中,作为阳极,用铂板作为阴极,溶液用少量的硫酸酸化,控制两级间电压4-5V,电流密度0.01A每平方厘米,搅拌下进行点解。点解过程中要不断取出阴极析出的镉,先经水洗,然后将其熔化,倒在干净的钢面上静置固化即可。若要知趣颗粒镉,则在熔化后滴入水中。 以金属镉为原料,经减压蒸馏精制,制得高纯镉成品。 2.将氧化镉置于石英玻璃管内,在350~400℃时通入氢气,可制得灰色粉末状镉。然后将温度升高至550~600℃或更高,使镉蒸发并冷凝在玻管的冷端,可得滴状镉。 3.将两块直径为4.5cm的铂片置于直径为7cm的圆柱形电解槽内,下面一块作阴极,上面一块作阳极,两极间距离为5cm,以H2SO4酸化的CdSO4溶液作为电解液,在电流密度0.1~0.3A/cm2条件下进行电解,在阴极上得到海绵状金属镉。在电解过程中,镉在阴极上沉积所形成的银白色粉末晶体会很快充满电解槽,为防止电极间短路,需用玻璃棒不断地压紧粉末状的镉。当发现阴极上有氢气析出时,需补加CdSO4。 4. 将99%的工业镉经过两次熔融之后, 加到电导水中制成粒状, 然后在升华器内于490~500℃下进行真空升华。恒温3h后停止加热, 继续抽真空, 当温度降到100℃以下, 即可得漂亮发光的高纯镉, 纯度可达99.99%~99.999%。
