Abstract
• Extracellular NAADP promotes cardiac preconditioning via the P2Y11-like receptors. • P2Y11-like receptors are able to induce prosurvival kinase activation in rat cardiomyocyte. • NAADP is released during ischemia suggesting a paracrine survival role.
