[Description]:

2,3-Dihydroxy-4-methoxyacetophenone is a neuroprotective compound from Cynenchum paniculatum. 2,3-Dihydroxy-4-methoxyacetophenone improves cognitive function and may has the potential for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease research[1].

[In Vitro]

2,3-Dihydroxy-4-methoxyacetophenone protects HT22 cells on glutamate induced cell-death in a dose-dependent manner (EC50=10.94 μM). 2,3-Dihydroxy-4-methoxyacetophenone inhibits [Ca2+] accumulation in HT22 cells and has antioxidantive activity[1].

[In Vivo]

2,3-dihydroxy-4-methoxyacetophenone (50mg/kg; po) improves the impairment of spatial memory induced by scopolamine[1].
