Description Chlophedianol (Clofedanol) hydrochloride is an orally active and potent antitussive agent. Chlophedianol hydrochloride can be used for the research of acute cough due to upper respiratory tract infections (URIs)[1][2].

Animal Model: Healthy, adult, male rabbits and cats[1] Dosage: 2.0, 6.0, 18, 54 and 162 mg/kg (PO) or 1.0, 3.0, 9.0, 27 and 81 mg/kg (SC) Administration: Oral or subcutaneous administration, once Result: Lowered the volume output of respiratory tract fluid, slightly but significantly over a period of one to three hours after administration. Produced a decrease in the number of animals in which pledgets of mucus appeared in the respiratory tract.
