In Vivo ALT-801 (subcutaneous injection; 5 and 10 nmol/kg; once daily; 84 d) treatment decreases body weight, improves hepatomegaly and hepatic steatosis, improves non-alcoholic fatty liver disease activity score (NAS) and fibrosis stage, reduces circulating liver enzymes and total cholesterol, improves hepatic markers for inflammation and fibrosis and lipid content, in DIO-NASH mouse model[1]. Animal Model: Diet-induced obese (DIO) mouse model of NASH[1] Dosage: 5 and 10 nmol/kg Administration: Subcutaneous injection; 5 and 10 nmol/kg; once daily; 84 days Result: Showed weight loss about 25% of vehicle control weights within 3 weeks of administration.Showed greater liver fat reduction treatment with 10 nmol/kg than with 5 nmol/kg. Decreased liver weight significantly as compared to vehicle control (p<0.0001) treated with low and high dose. Showed NAS of -32% and -61% in the low and high ALT-801 treatment groups, respectively. Observed reduction in fibrosis stage in 64% and 55% of the animals in the low ALT-801 and high ALT-801, respectively.
