用作增塑剂及杀虫剂,也用于染料的制造
【用途三】
作为有机合成中间体,用于农药、医药、染料、照相化学品的生产。在橡胶、纺织、塑料、涂料工业中亦可用作助剂。聚合级高纯巯基乙醇可用作氯乙烯、丙烯腈等的调取剂,以及聚合催化剂、聚合物交联剂、固化剂。该品得到美国食品药物管理局的批准,可用作丙烯腈、苯乙烯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯三元树脂制食品包装用吹塑容器时的添加剂。

巯基乙醇制备

1.早期采用氯乙醇与硫氢化钠反应制得。环氧乙烷与硫化氢按摩尔比1:3.5配合,以强碱性阴离子交换树脂为催化剂,在42℃左右反应。所得粗品含量约52%,还含少量硫二甘醇(沸点282℃),较易分离获得2-巯基乙醇。

2. 23克钠溶于400毫升精馏酒精,通入硫化氢使饱和(6小时)。在1小时内同时通入44克环氧乙烷和硫化氢于混合物中,此过程中温度保持低于30℃。放置过夜后,将反应混合物倾入水中,加60毫升冰麟酸以中和溶液,用乙醚萃取。乙醚萃取液用无水硫酸钠干干燥,蒸去溶剂,将残余物进行蒸馏 ,得24克沸点 58℃/12mm馏份,经鉴定为β一巯基乙醇。还得到29克沸点147℃/6mm馏份,为硫代二甘醇。

3. 在1升三颈瓶中,将240克结品硫化钠在水浴上熔化,通硫化氢使饱和。加入150克乙醇再通硫化氢以饱和之。保持低于20℃,慢慢加入120克氯乙醇,将反应混合物在室温放置36小时。通氯化氢直到混合物呈酸性。滤去氯化钠。滤液经减压分馏,得β一巯基乙醇,产率26一30%。
残余物再分馏可得硫代二甘醇。
