Crisnatol [INN] UNII-2J71UR51UE 1,3-Propanediol,2-((6-chrysenylmethyl)amino)-2-methyl Crisnatolum [Latin] CRISNATOL Crisnatolum |
Description | Crisnatol (BWA770U) is an orally active and anticancer agent, and a member of the arylmethylaminopropanediol class of DNA intercalators. Crisnatol shows in vitro cytotoxicity against MCF-7 human breast cancer cells, breast cancer cell line (MDA-MB-231), but not normal human skin fibroblasts[1][2][3]. |

In Vitro | Crisnatol (1.3 μg/mL; 24, 48, 72 h) inhibits the replication of HepG2 cells, decreases cell viability by only 35%[2]. Crisnatol (0.05 μg/mL, 0.5 μg/mL; 1 μg/mL; 24 h; 37 ℃) drug metabolites chromatographic properties in both Hep G2 cells and human liver microsomes is similar to metabolites observed in extracts of feces from rats[2]. Cell Viability Assay[2] Cell Line: HepG2 cells Concentration: 1.3 μg/mL Incubation Time: 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, and 126 hours Result: Inhibited cell viability at 48 hr. |
In Vivo | Crisnatol (25 mg/kg; p.o.; single dose) shows oral activity and shows stable metabolite profile extract of rat feces by autoradiography[2]. |
