Antihistamines are a class of drugs that reversibly occupy histamine receptors and competitively block the binding of histamine to receptors, thereby exhibiting antihistaminic effects. There are two types of histamine receptors, H1 and H2. Antihistamines also have two types: H1 receptor blockers, such as diphenhydramine with anti-allergic effects; H2 receptor blockers, such as Cimetidine or the like having an action of inhibiting gastric acid secretion. Antihistamines have a wide range of clinical applications, mainly used for: 1 allergic diseases of the skin mucosa; 2 bronchial asthma; 3 prevention of motion sickness and vomiting; 4 for sedation and hypnosis. There are no clear guidelines on how to safely use antihistamines in pregnant women. It is generally believed that these drugs have no obvious teratogenic effects on the fetus, but they can be applied within 2 weeks before birth, and the neonatal lens can be formed after the lens.
